I’ve been making a lot of figurative paper collages these last 6 months or so. Cutting out images is relaxing to me, almost meditative. I like to do it while listening to podcasts and audiobooks. I fill up shallow boxes of cut images before I eventually work out compositions (unless something is really obvious to me as I’m cutting and I don’t want it to get lost in the pile). Awhile back, I set up a second instagram account dedicated solely to this body of work. I felt like it warranted its own space and didn’t want it to take over my regular feed.
